The Hillsboro Mutual Domestic Water Consumers Association was established as an exempt non-profit corporation under the Sanitary Projects Act in the State of New Mexico in December, 1962. The corporation’s function is to provide safe drinking water to the subscribing residents of Hillsboro, New Mexico. The association is governed by a board of 5 people elected from the current membership. Board members serve as volunteers. The Association has one part-time employee who is a qualified drinking water system operator, certified by the state of New Mexico. The primary purpose of the association is to provide a reasonable quantity of high-quality potable water to its resident members.

The HMDWCA Board meets on the second Wednesday evening of each month in the Hillsboro Community Center Kitchen at 5 pm.  The meetings are open to the public and HMDWCA members are encouraged to attend.  An agenda will be posted on the community bulletin board outside the Hillsboro Post Office at least 48 hours before each meeting. The Community Center is located on Elenora Street in Hillsboro, New Mexico.
